Scope of improvement

Couple of months ago, my mom came up with a match box, showed it to me and said, "this match box will glow in dark if some light falls on it". I checked it and found that she was right. The match box had its maker's name written in such a way that it glitters in the dark when rays of light fall on it. Its actually easier to grab that match box when it is dark. I was really impressed with that. May be its been there for a while, i noticed it just recently. May be they are in the initial stage and they are in the process of developing it. We are not new to radium stickers, i was playing with it when i was young but the very thought to bring the concept of radium in a match box is an innovation according to me. Though its a very small thing that was done, the actual difference is why was it not done so far and why no one thought of this. The man behind it really deserves a special praise i would say, whoever it may be. The very concept is there is A/C remotes as well.
Few years back if someone have given a match box to me and said innovate something in it, i would have looked at it for days and would have asked so many questions and would have given it back saying nothing can be innovated in it. But there was something that was innovated from it. I really see this as a motivating thing. Its not that someone has done something to me directly but looking into it, i have learn t  "there is a scope of improvement " in everything that you come across. All we have to do is to look at it with a open mind.

  1. Nicely presented !!! Yeah there is scope of improvement in each and everything around.
Many years ago when the emergency lights were a rarity and power cuts were regular, we used to stick radium stickers on to our torch lights and match boxes. I don’t know who came up with the idea but surely it was very innovative.

  2. Nice thoughts da. Yup, scope for improvement is there in all things in life. Sadly though we don't pause to give it the finesse it needs. The idea is indeed laudable and a small thing that makes a huge difference. I know that you are someone who has all these innovative ideas, but sadly again, someone beats you to it. I hope you continue to generate ideas and that some one someday writes a similar blog on your idea :)
